On being human

December 17th, 2008

My workmate sighed and explained he was having a bad day despite “I get up every morning feeling good about life and not wanting to hurt anyone.   Then I come to work, still feeling positive, but then someone says or does something and I become miserable.  Hurt sometimes”.  I knew instantly who had upset him.  The resident female bully.   A ‘lady’ burdened with attitude and ego.   What do you do … ?   Or … What should you do … ?

Music - what is it ?

December 2nd, 2008

Well - in correspondence Tchaikovsky suggested to a friend that, “Where words fail, music speaks”.  I think this touches the communal spirit that is music … perfectly.   Some music does speak to us.  We hear it and understand what it is saying.  Without literary lyric.   Yet still emotionally lyrical.

Thinking of my lovely wife …

Soft full lips, a gilded sheen of hair
Melting in warmth compelling brown eyes
Seductive yet enlightened with trust
An air of poise, a whimsical smile
Rich blossoming skin glowing its health
Delicate like a new born infant
Your wonders perceived; my greatest wealth.

Hello world!

I am www.hutchee.com !!

Where words fail music speaks.   How I believe this.   Many years ago my father demonstrated to me on his accordion how a major chord changes to a minor.   I loved that change in sound and emotion then and still do now.  It means something.   Perhaps it sounds our experiences within life?

What couldn’t I live without?   Classical music.   How it isn’t as important in every human beings life amazes me.  Take a listen to the demo of Voices of an Orchestra - Being Elsewhere and listen for those majors and minors.   I’m proud of this work as I am of Vincent and Ebenezer.   Will I experience them in the theatre in this life - or shall I have to wait to the next - with my father sat next to me?

Oh! and my black humour as found in Strange Tales of Extraordinary Comeuppance?  Well life is cruel and bleak for so many folk that perhaps this humour helps me cope.   And as for the ‘naughty’ stuff - well I include this as a kind of elderly adolescent rebelliousness against staid and proper Britishness!

And my thought for today ?   If every year 3 million children die unnecessarily because of disease or starvation then in my lifetime (and its my birthday today!) 183 million small lives will have ended tragically.   I try to believe in a God, but if we meet my first question has to be “OK, many humans seek to justify this human suffering within a believe of You - but I ask, Why The Children.   They are innocent.   The abuse of this innocence is unforgiveable. They should never be used to demonstrate/prove something.   Was there not another way?”

But to change the subject.   Film!  I love films and their music.   Have a listen to my 5 Bond themes - more traditional than the last two Daniel Craig tunes - er, how do they go again?  Exactly!

And the good old Border Reivers.   Do you know their story?  Have a read - it may surprise you.

And hello all professionals.   Can I interest you in publishing something - or bringing to the stage - or the recording studio?  Carpe Diem!

My philosophy in life - “Let the moderates be strong!” and “Goodness will prevail”.
